Film, Television & Video

The RCC Film, Television and Video department is committed to hands-on, practical instruction. Classes are designed to give you the production skills, experience and professionalism you’ll need to succeed in television production. Industry-experienced instructors provide training drawing from their knowledge  in: Live-to-Tape Studio Production.

As part of your coursework, you’ll work on the crew of RCC's cable television programs:

• Inland Valley News is a hard-news short form news program that reports on political, local, sports and entertainment issues and events. Students learn the process of producing their news packages and submit 3-5 minute stories to be aired in during the production section of the class.
• Inland Valley Magazine is a special-interest news magazine program that features student produced 4-6 minute packages on a producer approved topic of the student's choice. The class reviews the basics of the story writing process and begins more advanced editorial news-writing techniques.

These live-to-tape studio production experiences provide you with unique skills and experience that will set you apart with a competitive edge.

Inland Valley Magazine and Inland Valley News are produced weekly by an all-student crew. The programs are cablecast throughout the Inland Valley on RCC’s educational cable TV stations on: • Charter Communications – KRCC Channel 94 (Riverside) • Adelphia Cable – KRCC Channel 25 (Moreno Valley) You’ll receive regional exposure and on-screen production credits for your participation in these award-winning productions. What a great asset for your production resume tape!
